[20:38] Jaye Jeffries: ::sits in the captains chair, tapping the lcars console at his side. He shakes his head, wondering why there are so many damned ships reports - isn't there somebody else to read through this stuff? He thought though, that it was a good thing - all crew operating efficiently. Jeffries has a devious thought about handballing the task to the commander.
[20:38] Hladson Kappler: ::me walks onto the bridge:: Major.
[20:38] Hladson Kappler: ::me hands the Duty Roster to Jaye for his aproval::
[20:39] Talon Lardner leans back in her chair a bit as she sets the padd back on the table, her legs slightly cramped from being stuffed in the smallchair. She didn't want to hop back into Sickbay, herself starting to feel burnt out on the routine of being a doctor.
[20:39] Takira Sukra: ::reads the comminque from the Council to see what the committee is asking for in her next report::
[20:40] Jaye Jeffries: ::takes the report from commander Kappler, nodding as he did so "thankyou commander." Jeffries looks over the duty roster, nodding "looks fine"
[20:40] Hladson Kappler: There's nothing unusal to report, although several of the engineer's are requesting time off at the same time.
[20:40] Culama Foxclaw: *goes about his tasks in sickbay trying to avoid the doctor who had the same reaction as most of his friends and even family to his recent returne from captivity by the changelings
[20:41] Krahazik Zaytsev accepted your inventory offer.
[20:41] Hladson Kappler: I'll leave it up to the Chief to decied who gets to go on leave first.
[20:42] Takira Sukra: ::reviews over her own logs and begins cross referencing events with ships log::
[20:42] Teyshan Inaka: :: looks around his simple hut as he gets his bag ready for his trek into the hills." Someday we need to get an herbalist to join the colony" Inaka checks his lists again" *sighs* oh well the Prophets seem to see fit I don't get too vain, after al a Vedek can gather herbs for Hamara just like any other farmers son. :: he laughes at his laziness and heads out the door and into the back country
[20:42] Jaye Jeffries: ::nods slowly at kappler's report, wondering if there could be any reason the engineers are all suddenly requesting leave "I'm sure it's nothing serious - but yes, let mr Zaytsev decide the priority of leave"
[20:43] Takira Sukra: ::find the information and begins her report::
[20:43] Talon Lardner grumbles under her breath as she hops back up, stretching up a bit before choosing to walk over to the bridge, sliding into one of the science stations. She knew it was a sly way of getting bridge hours in, but she didn't want to be a Junior Grade forever.
[20:43] Takira Sukra: ::cites a few incidents of violation of Star Fleet protocol by Star Fleet members while serving aboard the ship::
[20:44] Hladson Kappler: Well if there's nothing more sir, I think I'll turn in for the night.
[20:44] Jaye Jeffries: ::thinks on the conference he attended a number of weeks ago. The issues discussed there were of paramount importance to the future of Bajor. This new threat that had recently been discovered in the Gamma Quadrant, it may prove to be more sinister than anybody had initially thought. Jeffries rubbed his temples as he felt the beginnings of a headache, perhaps he should visit the nurse.
[20:45] Takira Sukra: ::tries not to wonder why the committee would want that information but decides not to question it::
[20:45] Teyshan Inaka: The walk is a steady one, the hills gently sloping upwards.."This is a fine day, wish I had dressed a little cooler, but hindsight is ever wize. ::looks up towards the wooded area ahead:: So lovely this place, so much like the vision the Prophets gave me those five yeras ago::
[20:46] Talon Lardner: *pops on the console and does a brief scan, dusting off her old science skills* ::Let's see what's out here...:: *she thinks to herself as she does a brief scan... * ::Rocks.... rocks.... small gas cloud... rocks.... OOH, abandoned shuROCK......::
[20:46] Hladson Kappler: ::leaves the bridge and enters the turbolift::
[20:47] Hladson Kappler: ::exits the turbolift and heads down the hall to his quarters::
[20:48] Takira Sukra: ::writes an objective answer to the question. Reviews what she wrote and goes on to the next request in the commique::
[20:48] Culama Foxclaw: looks over the status of some of the doctors experiments unabel to focus on what was happening to the plankton on the screen. already three of his former friends had asked to not be contacted again as if he was still not himself and was the one that had used what he knew of medicine to snuff out the lives of millions
[20:49] Hladson Kappler: ::enters his quarters, looks around at the mess and then to the picture of his wife and son, the grief as strong as if they were killed by the Cardassians last week and not seven years ago::
[20:50] Jaye Jeffries: ::decides he needs something for his headache, the pain getting worse. He looks around for the next ranking officer on the bridge "You have the bridge, I'm going down to sickbay temporarily for this damned headache"
[20:51] Culama Foxclaw: ah yes another quiet shift"* thinks :: all of my shifts have quieted since comming back::
[20:51] Takira Sukra: ::outlines the incident regarding the use of a biological agent, again::
[20:51] Talon Lardner blinks in suprise, and looks around.... crap, was she just put in charge of the bridge? "Aye aye, sir..." she spoke softly, standing up quickly to take the chair in slight disbelief... her first command situation, incredible...
[20:52] Jaye Jeffries: ::walks into sickbay holding his head. Jeffries looks around for the nurse, and sees his working at one of the sickbay terminals "nurse Foxclaw - can you give me something for this headache? It's really...." Jeffries cringes slightly as the pain gets worse
[20:52] Hladson Kappler: ::checks his personal comms. His Sister-in-Law still hasn't had her baby. Hladson laughs as he hears her sneezing in the background of his brother's message.
[20:52] Takira Sukra: ::finishes the report. Reviews it and then encrypts the message and forwards it to the communication station on the bridge to be sent out::
[20:53] Culama Foxclaw: * turns from his work grabbing a scanner as he walks to the major "lets have a look be fore i go about injecting things"
[20:54] Teyshan Inaka: :: walking ever onwards:: By the Prophets! I need to get in better shape! The elers of the village would tease me no end if they could see me.:looks around dubiously:: I bet one of the younglings may yet be keeping an eye on my progerss:: Inaka frowns slightly, but his good humor getting the upper hand he chuckles::
[20:54] Culama Foxclaw: *runs the scanner over jaye's head
[20:55] Culama Foxclaw: "when did it start?"
[20:55] Jaye Jeffries: ::nods greatfully as Foxclaw's 'maternal'instinct kicks in. He hopes that a simple sedative or such, will help his headache. "I appreciate whatever you can do Foxclaw, it's odd isn't it - I thought we weren't supposed to get headaches in this day and age, with our medical expertise and technology. I hope it's not something serious" listens as culama ass the qeustion "only just this morning it started, has been getting worse ever since"
[20:55] Hladson Kappler: :: listens to his nephew's recorded message about how excited he is to be a brother soon. He hopes it will be a boy so he will have someone to play with ::
[20:56] Teyshan Inaka: ::looking along a path by an old wized trunk of a tree he sees his first prze : AHA! there is a Keltava! :: he reaches for the green fronds with the nutricious if slightly bitter root only to discover he is not the only seeker:: a small ground rodent, not unlike a squirrel is also about to take the prize.
[20:57] Talon Lardner stretches out her legs a bit as she rests in the chair... ::Wow... confortable...:: she admitted, rubbing her hands over the arms of the chair. She could get used to this. "Computer, increase bridge heat tempurature by 5 degrees" She requested. If she was going to have the bridge to herself, she might as well make it hers.
[20:57] Takira Sukra: ::pulls a holographic picture display from beneath her desk, places it on the desk and turns it on looking at her beloved pet sehlat
[20:58] Teyshan Inaka: :: gives a start and cries out an inelligant squak:: The creature, unperterbed begins to chatter in an agressive manner
[20:58] Culama Foxclaw: "hmmm well i may need a closer look just to make sure::thinks how nice it is to have something to do:: "it wont take too long but i get to test a new scanner starfleet sent over" *puts down the old scanner and looks around for the new
[20:58] Hladson Kappler: :: Heads out of his quarters, goes down the hall and to the left to the holodeck ::
[21:00] Jaye Jeffries: ::hopes the new Starfleet scanner will prove effective and efficient. At the very least, Jeffries was confident that he was in good hands with Foxclaw - Dr Lardner had an excellent team of physicians and nurses
[21:01] Teyshan Inaka: :: Inaka, having lived on Bajorana colony long enough to know even the smallest creatures are not to be taken lightly sighs in defeat:: Allright little one, you win this round. ::He steps carefully away from the small yet determined little creature:: I stand in awe of your might little one. :: he bows to the creature who proptly ignores him and proceeds to nibble at his sprized root. :: looks about for the next possible item.
[21:01] Takira Sukra: ::touches the holographic display thinking briefly about her family and wishing she had an opportunity to see them while the Relliketh was in the Vulcan system but understands that time just wasn't convenient for either of them. At least she got to talk to her mother and sister briefly.
[21:02] Hladson Kappler: :: Continues to work on a holo-novel he has been writing about one of the greatest adventurers in classic Bajoran literature. He thinks how embarased he would be if someone found him indulging in such fantasy.
[21:02] Culama Foxclaw: *finnally finds the small round device in a pile of unused gadgets"here we go"*walks over and moves the tiny piece of equipment around the bajoran's head"well nothing major
[21:03] Jaye Jeffries: ::squirms uncomfortably on the sickbay bed as he sits, waiting for nurse Foxclaw to finalise his analysis "nothing nurse? Can you give me something to at least ease the pain?"
[21:03] Takira Sukra: ::turns off the holographic picture, places it under the desk and opens up one of the professional articles she was asked to review whether it should be published in the journal::
[21:05] Talon Lardner hums to herself a bit in boredom... she certainly got what she asked for, she certainly can't get to sickbay now! "Computer, play some music, low volume, rock, any planet." she requests, leaning back in the chair as she stared at the view screen, unsure if she wanted something to happen or not.
[21:05] Jaye Jeffries: ::looks around the sickbay, noticing the wall terminal next to him. Jeffries to make sense of the jargon that was written in Starfleet standard on the monitor, but it was all medical-technobabble to him. He wondered whta he would do without such a fine and professional crew
[21:05] Culama Foxclaw: *luaghs lightly"yes its just an increase in your intercranial pressure along with a riase in your diastolic blood pressure"puts the scanner down and goes to load a hypo spray
[21:06] Jaye Jeffries: ::looks slightly blank as nurse Foxclaw divulges this information "I see...."
[21:06] Jaye Jeffries: "Can you remove it nurse?" jeffries winks at Foxclaw, making an obvious joke about his own lack of medical knowledge and cures
[21:07] Culama Foxclaw: *walks over hypo in hand shaking his head well aware of the majors lack of medical knowlege"this will reduce the pressure but i would suggest talking with the counselor for the blood pressure
[21:08] Teyshan Inaka: ::spying another herb from his list, the Tekasa moss, he wonders at the wisdom of his next action:: "Hrmm, well Inaka you volunteered, haven't climbed a tree since I was 12..and I fell off".:sighs, then grins:: "Good thing old Jerra is good at fixing a body of scrapes"
[21:08] Jaye Jeffries: ::nods "I think I might pay her a quick visit now in fact. Thankyou for that injection, I feel a bit better already"
[21:08] Hladson Kappler: :: Hladson stands on the deck of the "Sword of Wisdom" adjusting the rigging with a padd, feeling the wind in his hair and smelling the salt of the Bajoran Ocean. He wonders if anyone would mistake him for the Great Sailor Yavah searching for the lost stones of power.
[21:09] Culama Foxclaw: "good to hear major. oh and this new scanner will go in the occasionall=y used box
[21:10] Jaye Jeffries: ::walks out of sickbay, waving to nurse foxclaw, and decides that perhaps his counselling appointment could wait. He always put off those appointments, he disliked emotionally probing discussions - they always seemed so....invasive
[21:11] Jaye Jeffries: ::looks up into the air to address the computer "computer, locate commander Kappler", "commander Kappler is in the holodeck"
[21:12] Teyshan Inaka: ::Inaka begins to climb, ever so slowly up the old growth tree. Thankfully the trees of this world were wider than tall, but he was still a decent degree abouve the ground. "Why in the name of the Prophets does this blasted ppland only grow on the outer branches? He regretted not dressing more ruggedly and has to hike up his smock. :: he looks ove to his right and can clearly see the tower to the village meeting house....until it seems to vannish in a blaze of solidified sunlight....:: he blinks in confusion, his mind not comprehending what he is seeing..then the sound hits him....
[21:12] Culama Foxclaw: *waved and dropps his smile. "well back to an empty room*sighs * for once im hopping for someone to lose a limb"
[21:12] Talon Lardner yawns loudly as she leans back in her chair, tracing a claw over the arm of the chair, resisting the urge to make even the chair "Hers" by making grooves in the arms of the chair like she did in sick bay, but unfortunatly, she'd probally be kicked off the ship for that. "Computer, increase volume by two units." she requested, her head bobbing a little to the beat.
[21:13] Jaye Jeffries: ::decides he will pop in on commander Kappler. Surely he wouldn't mind, the two hadn't spent much time together outside of the bridge lately and he thought he should keep up relations with the bridge crew. Jeffries made his way to the holodeck, and walked through the holodeck arch, which sighed open obediently as he approached.
[21:14] Hladson Kappler: ::me turns around as an arch opens at the stern of the ship and the Major walks in::
[21:14] Teyshan Inaka: FIRE, THUNDER, the winds as if insane howl around him....the earth benieath him is in pain, or so it would seem as it thrashes him...he does not even remember falling..all he can see is a sky red with flame and a world gone mad:: covers his head and curls up as tight as he can..old reasponses to Cardassian raids are hard to dispel, even with years
[21:15] Hladson Kappler: Major, well... what do you think?
[21:17] Jaye Jeffries: ::looks around at the peaceful sky, fluffy cumulus clowds, and an ancient Bajoran sailing vessel floating on the open K'teran sea (if the Major's guess was correct). What a splendid recreation of the Sword of Wisdom "This is incredible number one, did you program this yourself?"jeffries looked around in renewed amazement at the detail. He could smell the salt of the sea, feel the warmth of the sun as it shone down on them both from between the clowds.
[21:17] Teyshan Inaka: :: choking the need to flee he stands and tries to find his way back to the village...the smoke is accrid and ther is debrise flyong from stray hits around him:: " This is an attack ::choking on dust and smoke:: But who?
[21:17] Hladson Kappler: Yes. I've been working on it for a year and a half now in my spare time...
[21:18] Hladson Kappler: Ever since the vision we had where the Prophets called the Relliketh the Sword of Wisdom
[21:19] Jaye Jeffries: ::nods, again appreciating the attention to detail that Kappler had obviously paid to every section of the recreation. "truly incredible, I think you should show this to the crew - they might appreciate it"
[21:20] Teyshan Inaka: Before he can get much farther a tree near him explodes into fragments :he tries to ward of the shock but it is in vain...:he is knocked to the ground, his vision is fading..he feels a pain to his head and he can't remain standing..."Must get back...have to...:: all fades to the dark as the last thing he hears is the mad storm from the sky
[21:20] Hladson Kappler: well I intend to finishe it properly and tell the saga of Yavah. I think I might even be able to get it published, well... maybe
[21:21] Jaye Jeffries: ::walked to the edge of the sailing vessel to peer over the side, noticing the waves below as they crashed against the side of the hull
[21:22] Culama Foxclaw: *looks at his half typed letter home::dear Nana, i can only hope that you atleast will not turn in shame as manny others have. Even here on the Relliketh i now have the least injuries for a shift on record, the doctor herself can no longer look me in the eye
[21:23] Jaye Jeffries: "publishing a holonovel kappler? I didn't even realise you had been working on this all this time. No other secrets you've been keeping from us?" Jeffries smiles at Kappler
[21:24] Hladson Kappler: well I don't have much free time, but I've always loved this story. My grandmother used to read it to me and my brother when we were little.
[21:24] Talon Lardner rubbed her forehead a little as she looked around the empty bridge, starting to get that trapped feeling again. "Computer, where is Major Jefferies?" She asked curiously. When she finds out that the Major was on the holodeck, she growled out loud. "Crap... he's gonna be in there for ages." she sighed. "Computer, raise tepurature an additional five degrees, lower humidity by 50%."
[21:26] Culama Foxclaw: :: they now how that thing acted as but don't know me any more.*to him self i don't know me any more
[21:26] Jaye Jeffries: ::smiles at Kappler comment "Yes I recall being read this story when I was younger, it was also one of my favourite. A popular Bajoran novel it seems" Jeffries gestured around at Kappler's recreation "this could be quite popular, particularly with the amount of attention that you've given it. You've breathed a lot of life into this"
[21:27] Hladson Kappler: It's a plank for plank recreation of a ship from that era. You know me, I'm a stickler for details.
[21:28] Relliketh: ::comms, incoming signal from DS9::
[21:29] Culama Foxclaw: * looks up as the door opens hopingg for something more than a head ache
[21:29] Talon Lardner blinks in suprise, jerking up straight... crap, that's her cue! "Computer, mute music!" She ordered as she pressed a nearby button. "This is the Relliketh." She reported, tucking her uniform in quickly.
[21:31] ::Major Kira:: Relliketh, this is Major Kira of DS9, we have just lost contact with one of the Bajoran colonies in the Gamma Quadrant. As you are the closest ship can you check to see if they require any assistance?
[21:33] Talon Lardner: "Can do." she reported, shifting over in her chair. "Anything else that is needed, Ma'am?" She asks cautiously, racking her brain for the proper protocol on this.
[21:33] ::Kira:: Keep us informed, we will have the Defiant standing bye to assist. Sending coordinates now.
[21:34] Jaye Jeffries: ::looks toward Kappler, wondering if he had created any other works on theholodeck "you'll have to show me this more extensively at some point commander, for the moment I should probably be returning to the bridge"
[21:34] Hladson Kappler: Well sir I'm glad you like the ship. I'll upload it to the ships memory, you can look at it whenever you like.
[21:35] Talon Lardner: "Will do Ma'am. Relliketh out." She reported, shifting in her chair a bit. Finally, she had an excuse to leave the bridge. Pressing another button, she asks "Captain to the bridge", hoping that whatever is going on in the holodeck wasnt' too important, or embarassing to interrupt.
[21:35] Ellen McLeod *walks to sick bay having managed to have fllen fom the cat walk in engineering now glad for the time her parents had meade her spend in gymnastics classes and her speed in calculating phisics* oh hello mr Foxclaw i managed to twist my ankel while backflipping on to thesecond level of engineering
[21:35] Hladson Kappler hears the comm too
[21:36] Hladson Kappler: Computer save and close program ::the ship fades to striped lines on the floor and walls of the holodeck
[21:36] Jaye Jeffries: ::smiles and nods his head as he leaves the holodeck, clasping his hands behind his back - a habit he picked up from the Starfleet crew aboard the ship. Had they begun to rub off on him? He felt that, on occasion, he was even beginning to think like a Starfleet officer. he wasn't sure if this was a good or a bad thing, but reminded himself to keep an eye on this - he didn't wish to alienate his own Bajroan crew from this captain
[21:37] Talon Lardner , meanwhile, rushed to reset the bridge to the prior conditions. "Computer, resume standard atmospheric condtions, stop music." She requested as she looked back to that door, just hoping that he'd come.
[21:37] Jaye Jeffries: ::looks up as Dr Lardners voice comes over the comms, and he responds "I'm on my way Dr". Jeffries puts an extra bounce in his step, walking fast toward the closest turbolift to bring him to the bridge.
[21:38] Hladson Kappler follows the Major
[21:38] Jaye Jeffries: ::looks toward Kappler as they both stand in the turbolift, waiting to arrive on the bridge "Ready for some excitement no doubt, commander?"
[21:38] Culama Foxclaw: ::wounders how a scientist managed to fall from the cat walk in engineeringor for that matter why" yes of course over here i'll patch you up
[21:38] Hladson Kappler: Aye sir, better than any day on the high seas
[21:39] Jaye Jeffries: "Oh i'm not sure about that - I wouldn't mind a vacation on the Sword of Wisdom should we ever get some free time"
[21:41] Talon Lardner glances around nervously on the bridge, making sure that everything is how the Major left it... finally put at ease, she relaxed a bit in the chair, breathing nice and deep
[21:42] Jaye Jeffries: ::enters the bridge with commander Kappler and strides towards the command chair, sitting comfortably as Dr lardner vacates the chair for him. "status update Dr?"
[21:43] Talon Lardner: Sir, we just got orders to check out a Bajoran Colony, it had stopped responding, and we're the closest ship. *She recited, taking great care to watch her dictation and pronounciation* The Coordinates are already in place, the ships at your Go.
[21:43] Culama Foxclaw: *runs the the tissue regenerator over the woman's ankel opting for some talk" so whats this weeks experiment ? and why is i up on the cat walk?"
[21:44] Hladson Kappler checks the long range sensors
[21:45] Jaye Jeffries: ::nods at Dr lardner's report, then turns toward the helmsman "set course and engage maximum warp"Jeffries chops his arm through the air, indicating for the helmsman to engage the warp drive and get them underway to their destination. The helmsman nodded with a curt "aye sir", and the Relliketh jumped to warp.
[21:46] "well we needed a sample of warp plasma and as the engineers were busy working on the main plasma junction i had to get it from the secondary one" wounder why so many of the engineers have been rude latly
[21:46] Hladson Kappler: Sir I'm not detecting any comm traffic from the colony. It could be another Dominion attack or it may be somethings interfering with subspace communications between us and the planet
[21:46] Talon Lardner stands at attention briefly, hands clasped behind her back.... debating to herself if she should ask if she is dismissed or not. She slowly takes a few steps back, testing to see if they still need her.
[21:48] Jaye Jeffries: ::notices Dr Lardner's continued presence as kappler gives his comment "ah Dr...be on hand just in case, we're not sure what we'll find on New Bajor. Be prepared for injures" and turns back towards Kappler "a Dominion attack...yes but we know so little about them or their motivations. Let's hoep not"
[21:49] Hladson Kappler: it would have had to be quite a surprise for there not to be any distress calls
[21:50] Culama Foxclaw: "'well the next time you get the urg to do acrobatice on the catwalk just say no"
[21:50] Jaye Jeffries: "indeed yes, I'm betting that there's something stopping communications from getting through - but we should certainly be prepared for the worst"
[21:51] Talon Lardner: "Aye sir." She smiled, hopping back to a nearby console. She was still trapped on the bridge, but at least she had a task to do. Hitting a button on the console, she asks "Bridge to sickbay, prep for possible incoming wounded."
